  1. Maureen L. Reeves

Abstract

The increase in technology has resulted in greater demands being placed on machine operators. In order to promote greater efficiency and economy it is important to ensure the user and the equipment are well matched. Staff at the Institute of Naval Medicine are beginning a major anthropometric survey of Royal Navy personnel. This article introduces the reader to some relevant concepts of anthropometry and to the methods to be adopted during the survey.
