Abstract

Adult coeliac disease is a cause of chronic ill health that is probably much under-diagnosed. The presenting features may be vague and variable, and so indistinct as to allow a long period of minor ill health before the diagnosis is made. Nine cases of adult coeliac disease diagnosed and treated at RNH Plymouth are discussed to illustrate these points.
