Abstract

A case of Conjoined or ‘Siamese’ Twins recently occurred in the Royal Naval Maternity Unit, Malta. This article does not set out to prove any new theories concerning the origin of these rare monsters, but the historical background is reviewed together with an outline of their classification, to which there is scanty reference in the literature. Our case is described and a few lessons to be learnt are discussed.
