A Case of Phaeochromocytoma
  1. C. I. Doris

Abstract

A case of phaeochromocytoma, diagnosed in a 39-year-old male following the discovery of hypertension during routine examination is described. Following the demonstration of abnormally high urinary levels of catecholamines and their main metabolites, the presence of a right suprarenal tumour was demonstrated by ultrasonic scanning and confirmed by arteriography. After removal of the phaeochromocytoma the blood pressure fell to within normal limits.
